With Mikhail “Dr. Mike” Varshavski‘s busy medical career, more than 2.5 million Instagram followers and enviable extracurriculars — he works out like an elite athlete, has friends as gorgeous as he is and has dated Miss Universe — he seems to have mastered the work-life balance. In fact, that’s what drew the good Doctor Mike to social media in the first place: “I wanted to show students that you don’t have to give up your life and your hobbies to study medicine,” Dr Mike tells INDULGE. Today, the Russian-born New Yorker named Sexiest Doctor Alive by People magazine is finishing his medical residency in New Jersey but spends one weekend a month in Miami Beach, where he and his father co-own an apartment. He’s also using his strong social-media game for good: Varshavski’s foundation, Limitless Tomorrow, gives grants to students who might not qualify for academic scholarships. Here, the 27-year-old shares his local Miami picks for staying fit and selfie-ready.

ANATOMY AT 1220 “I go here with a friend who’s a real workout buff. I like the atmosphere — it feels really raw and engaging. It brings the CrossFit mentality to a regular gym, which is two great worlds coming together.”

JUICE LAB “I like to drink my juice immediately after a workout, because that’s the best time to have your sugars. The ingredients here are really fresh. The pineapple, green apple and kale blend is my favorite.”

Top Miami Beach salon
LEO IZQUIERDO AT IGK SALON “It’s this little hair salon hidden inside the SLS South Beach. I go to Leo, who does the best haircuts for men and women — and he travels all over the place, so I can sometimes catch him in New York.”

Best Miami clubs
WALL LOUNGE AND LIV “It’s important to have a good social life. I go out in Miami as a form of relaxation. I like Wall at the W Hotel. Occasionally I’ll go to LIV at Fontainebleau, but only if I really want to celebrate something big — a birthday, graduating medical school, reaching 2 million followers…”
