From the Publisher: Something for everyone on your holiday gift list

The Torta ring by Bulgari almost looks good enough to eat.

The other day, well into a Miami October, I sensed a tiny hint of coolness in the air. Ever so subtly, it surrounded me and whispered, “Dust off your boots, winter is coming.” I might have missed this completely if it weren’t for the opportunity to delve into our much-anticipated Holiday Gifts & Givers issue of INDULGE, where we bring you, our readers, inspirational ideas for giving and gifting. Like a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, it’s an annual autumn pick-me-up, with each page taking you one step closer to another spectacular holiday season here in the Magic City.

First things first: Let’s go shopping! Our guest contributors have curated some of South Florida’s most covetable items in our 10-page Gift Guide, from design guru Tomas Frenes’ $1.25 Nespresso Cafecito de Cuba to a $66,000 Baccarat mirror selected by Raul Rodriguez of 2R Creative. These are just some of the intriguing picks that are sure to spark your shopping instincts, and are sooo Miami.

It’s not too early to start planning for your holiday shopping, so go ahead – pick up a pen and jot down the names on your holiday “Nice” list next to the many delightful options in our Gift Guide.  As I took this journey, I discovered that mine is made up of seven food lovers, six jetsetters, four fitness buffs, two party hosts and one very cultured woman – a mix of personalities that makes the hunt for gifts a real adventure!

Now that your holiday shopping is in the bag, why not treat yourself to some of our Launching Now recommendations? Discover your favorite yacht at the always jaw-dropping Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Take in a foreign movie at the beautiful, historic Tower or Olympia theaters. Or celebrate New World Symphony’s 30th birthday with an eclectic array of choices, culminating with the DJs of Dude Skywalker joining conductor Dean Whiteside and the Symphony’s stars at PULSE, a late-night party that’s not to be missed.

After enjoying these sights and sounds, it’s time to treat your taste buds, with a promise that every calorie consumed is totally worth it. My mother always said that if you’re going to splurge on dessert, go decadent, and there is no more sumptuous option than our namesake INDULGE Milkshake at Bocas House. Thank you to chef Cesar Gonzalez for the dusting of edible gold; it suits our sweet tooth – and our style – to a T.

But since I’m watching my figure, I’m going to opt for a different eye-popping extravagance, as selected by Claudia Miyar in our Lady in Red style feature. The gorgeous Torta ring, “baked” by Bulgari, is a (sort of) guilt-free indulgence for the ages, as well as a must for any holiday wish list. How good have you been this year?

Of course, it goes without saying that the best gift of all is having readers like you. You engage, challenge and inspire us. And in this season of expressing gratitude, we couldn’t be more thankful for that.
