Miami Mayor welcomes Paris designer Oscar Carvallo to Miami

Parisian fashion designer Oscar Carvallo receives a key to the City of Miami from Mayor Tomas Regalado.

Miami Mayor Tomás P. Regalado thanked French fashion designer Oscar Carvallo for opening an atelier here by presenting him with a key to the city at an intimate ceremony on October 25.

“It feels like we have a piece of Paris in Miami now,” Regalado said. “I have made it my mission to develop the fashion couture industry in Miami. We want to ignite … the opportunity for high-level design careers so that talent is lured to our great city.”

In addition to his expansion to Miami, Carvallo will play a role in this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach and Miami Art Week, displaying his exclusive exhibition of the interpretative work of world-renowned kinetic artist Carlos Cruz-Diez at PAMM on December 8.
