Tarpon River Brewing bubbles up from a powerhouse partnership

Tarpon River Brewing is open for business in Fort Lauderdale.

Tarpon River Brewing, the latest craft brewery and tap room in South Florida, is the result of a powerhouse partnership between two beloved bar owners, a veteran beer brewer and an award-winning local restaurant group.

New this month, Tarpon River Brewing is located at 280 Southwest Sixth Street in Fort Lauderdale. It’s a collaboration between Julian and Lisa Siegel of Riverside Market, Adam Fine of The Native Brewing Co., and The Restaurant People (YOLO, Spatch, S3).

“We’ve been working toward this project for many years, and the final pieces of the puzzle finally fell into place once we partnered with The Restaurant People,” Lisa Siegel said. “They bring an element of hospitality pedigree that we needed to create something of this scale.”

Tarpon River Brewing’s food menu is ‘Riverside-esque’

The brewery, tap room and restaurant is situated in a converted 11,000-square-foot warehouse that was originally Snyder Stables in the 1920s. There are 16 beers on draft, and the restaurant’s menu, created by Riverside Market chef Leo Hernandez, is “Riverside-esque,” with a fig-and-kale salad, pressed sausage sandwich, pretzels and beer cheese, and more.

Fine named Jonathon “Jack” Jackman as head brewer of Tarpon River Brewing. Among the beers he is creating, a flagship brew for The Restaurant People will be available at Tarpon River and at the group’s next project: Township Fort Lauderdale, opening this summer.

“Lisa and Julian have pioneered the Fort Lauderdale beer movement, and Adam is the godfather of craft beer,” said Tim Petrillo, CEO of The Restaurant People. “We’re here to organize them, and they’re here to un-organize us. We’ve influenced each other in the best possible ways.”

Tarpon River Brewing is open 8 a.m. to midnight Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday-Saturday and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
